Why is it that no one seems to respect the property of others when they travel to different parts of the Province, Canada or even the World?
Yes it is true that times are changing, but is it for the better or worse and naturally this all depends on who you ask.
Pemberton is not a city that has 1,000 visitors on a daily basis and the municipality north of Whistler has a population of (about) 3,000.
We hear that the fan attendance was over 45,000 per day and even now the police are investigating an early morning alleged stabbing of a 21-year old West Vancouver man and reports are that’s he’s in serious condition.
Ask the residents of Pemberton about the recent mess er-disaster following the past weekends concert festival or should we call it the Pemberton “Pig-Sty” Festival in name of those who left the mess behind.
Here’s hoping that the organizers will get tagged with clean-up cost and if not maybe the cost should be increased for any future events hosted by the organizing committee.
The performers were great, but the people who attended this festival had no respect for the land or each other.
I have heard that some attending watched different types of robbery as well as fans (use that term loosely) knocking fences down, fighting people, even down to peoples friends laughing at them when they’re in need of HELP!
I have been told that what should happen is the company putting on the event (Huka Entertainment) should put in place a proactive plan to teach people to take better care of the property, and treat each other with respect.
This would never be allowed to go unnoticed in Delta.
Good Luck with the clean-up!!!
