Hi Readers
Have you ever wondered who benefits from Volunteering?
Is it the organization like Special Olympics that benefits having people in place to run events or is it the athletes who get supervision and a chance to participate?
How about the benefits for the volunteer who has given up time to be there and sometimes given up a paying job to fulfill the obligation they have committed to.
Canada has one of the highest participation of volunteers in the world and we should be proud of that. Volunteering is a marvelous way to get involved with different employment sectors and can help those decide on what career path they want to take. It will also look great on resumes that can be compiled with websites like https://www.arcresumes.com/local/pennsylvania/, so that future employers take notice of what applicants have an interest in.
Here are a few benefits of volunteering that make me proud to be a Canadian Volunteer;
- #1 Able to pass on the skills to other.
#2 Feel good seeing others smile
#3 Keeps one feeling younger when around athletes
#4 Gives a person a sense of purpose.
#5 Are able to assist with career path choices. ( I am mentoring 3 young men who are all working towards becoming Personal Trainers)
#6 Volunteering at the locations you wish to get hired at is a great way to show your potential and skill set.
#7 Keeps us involved with the community.
Remember it takes a community to raise a child. So get out and volunteer and you will benefit too!
Mark O’Neill and Shelley Donald are Registered Personal trainers.
