Eating Healthy

Hello Readers

Eat more calories in the morning and I could become a better athlete or compete quicker for that 2 min water fountain race at break time at work?

Yep, you read that right. Shuffling your calorie intake to make breakfast your biggest meal of the day could help you slim down, report researchers at Tel Aviv University.

In their study, volunteers who downed a 700-calorie breakfast and a small dinner of 200 calories had lower glucose levels midday than participants who loaded up at night—a reliable predictor of appetite control.

To hit the 700-calorie mark enjoy three scrambled eggs (234 calories), a slice of 100% Whole Grain Cinnamon Raisin Bread (160 calories) topped with 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter (200 calories) and a medium sliced banana (105 calories). And plan for a modest dinner.

Athletes who have the discipline to prepare  meals for the day, starting with breakfast have better results than the athletes who run to the local coffee shop after a workout. I’ll bet their breakfasts were not healthy or planned.

Simple suggestions : Whole grain oats or porridge. Fruit smoothie with a small scoop of protein powder. Yogurt and fruit.

The best way to lose weight or become a better athlete is to focus on starting slow.

Have a small smoothie 30 mins before you work out in the morning and see how it sits in your stomach and slowly get used to having approx 700 calories and after that your daily caloric intake seems to fit into place because you have an appetite all day long.
