We all know that we have lot’s of talent on the west coast and it’s constantly on display at various sporting events we cover or attend, regardless of where our travels take us.
I have gotten to know Jeroen Vermeulen who sings at the Vancouver Giants games as well as games for the BC Lions and does a marvelous job.
We also have a young Lady named Marie Hui who sings prior to each Whitecaps game at BC Place Stadium and is a fixture at all games.
She has outdone herself this time and her talents have her travel to Seattle’s Century-Link Field and has the opportunity to sing prior to the NFL re-match of the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos on September 21st.
This alone is well deserved for Marie who has worked hard in her young career and tells the media “When I received the email that day, I had to tell myself to calm down, in an effort to stop myself from screaming at the top of my lungs in my office.
Needless to say, I’m still trying to calm myself so that I don’t ruin my vocal chords for my debut anthem appearance for NFL Superbowl champs, the Seattle Seahawks, as they battle their Superbowl runner-ups, the Denver Broncos.”
It is mentioned that Century-Link Field is the loudest field in the entire NFL, so let’s think – pressure or not?
We wish her all the best and who knows where this will take her career from here – maybe the next Celine Dion?
She has a web site which is http://www.mariehui.com/
