Player movement at the pro level of the game happens only when a team and/or club want to improve their product for the fanbase so as to put a championship team on the playing field.

Locally we are privileged to have the professional MLS Vancouver Whitecaps play at BC Place that has made major steps to grow the sport in the lower mainland.

In growing and having professional soccer in the area it has helped grow the sport for today’s youth who are focused on becoming the next Vancouver Whitecaps pro player.

Over the past few seasons we have been able to watch various star players hit the pitch such as Alphonso Davies who was not only talented but admired by today’s youth.

As the upcoming season nears the Whitecaps had their sights set on the 2023 MLS Superdraft that saw them select four players which was presented by Adidas.

They acquired the fifth overall pick in the first round from Houston Dynamo FC in exchange for the 13th overall pick, $125,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money (GAM) as well as $100,000 in 2024 (GAM) as above.

Vancouver’s next selection was J.C. Ngando (23) (midfielder) from the U of North Carolina with the fifth overall selection.
