BC is proud to support it’s athlete’s in a variety of methods and one is hosting both Summer and Winter Games throughout the Province.

Sending them is a tribute to those who work with these individuals to help them reach the pinnacle of success they with to reach in hopes of achieving success and quite possibly, Olympic success.

Delta is the one City in the Province that pay’s recognition to it’s athlete, coaches and trainers who work diligently to help them prior to the send-off.

But in this case it’s not the City of Delta that holds the send-off, but rather the Delta Sport Council who have been hosting this for the past number of years, with great success I might add.

This year for the Summer Games the Delta Sport Council held the send-off at the School Board Office as in the past with over 70 individuals attending.

The event was MC’d by Ian Paton, Delta’s Provincial MLA, who by profession is in actuality an auctioneer by trade and quite good as well.

In attendance were several dignitaries with all offering words of congratulations and encouragement as well as passing out certificates to those attending.

The event takes lots of hard work by the Delta Sport Council and each individual should be commended for what they do, with all taking aim on their role.

The evening ended up with a photo-op for all in attendance with closing remarks from all in attendance.

Congratulations from the Delta Sport Council to our Delta Athletes that will be attending this year in Cowichan on Vancouver Island it’s our understanding that regardless if you happen to win or lose bringing home a medal – YOU’RE OUR WINNERS

The BC Summer Games are held on Vancouver Island in Cowichan from Friday July 20th to Sunday July 22nd.
