Thunderbirds Women’s Volleyball

Published on

It has been a busy fall with our new league structure we had an early start to the season on Thanksgiving weekend. With injury and illness we have had more than our share of challenges, but have rallied with two important wins against UBC Okanagan.

Every weekend sees very competitive matches in what is absolutely the year that has shown the most parity in league history.

So we would really like your support as we play two weekends of back to back home matches against teams that are currently ahead of us in the standings.

We take on an experienced Alberta team on November 14 & 15 and then Winnipeg on November 21 & 22. A reminder that the Saturday November 22nd is our annual Alumni and Donor Night.

New T-Birds

A warm welcome to our great first year players.

#9 – Kelsey Clarke is from Delta, a great addition bringing depth and experience after three years of post secondary play at Camosun College where she helped guide the Chargers to a bronze medal in the Pac West league las season.

#11 – Victoria (Tori) Behie is a setter and right side player from Nanaimo where she led Nanaimo Secondary to the AAA title and the Victoria Titans to the National U18 Silver medal.

#14 – Samantha (Sam) Patko is a 5’6” libero who led St. Patrick’s High School and BCO club to impressive seasons with her stellar back row play.

#15 – Ciara Hanley a middle blocker from Calgary who was Alberta Player of the year last year.  She is also the cousin of Kristine Johnson (KJ) who graduated last season.

Thanks to UBC Athletics for the info.
