Tamara Knight Impresses Everyone

Have you ever attended an event and not known much about it, even tho you tried to research the event as much as possible?

Well such was the case this past September when Sportswave covered the Knight of Champions Bodybuilding event sanctioned by the BCABBA.

Sportswave Productions expanded coverage this past September covering the inaugural Knight of Champions Body Building event.

It was sanctioned by the BC Amateur Body Building Association of some of the finest athletes in their field in the sport the event was held at the Chandos Pattison Theatre in Surrey BC.

The card featured 36 Women and 29 Men in seven categories with the top five in every class qualifying for the 2016 Provincial Championships.

This being the first ever inaugural event for the Knight of Champions, which was sanctioned event by the BCABBA as well as the event promoter Tamara Knight’s.

The panel of 8 judges for the night’s competition all had exceptionally strong back grounds from the sport, which help out on the night.

Inputting the marks were Sandy Avelar, Belinda Karlin, BC President Ross Duncan, Kat Sartor, Wayne Karlin, Jeni Briscoe and Lorilee Sweeney.

Keeping the stats for the evening events were Lauralee March and Tara Cheng were introduced.

The morning prejudging competition leading to cutting the numbers down to the 65 athletes allowed them to take part in the Knight of Champions inaugural event.

The training was extensive as well as impressive and given what they go through in the gym healthy eating for all competitions for the love of the sport was impressive. As well as a diet, many of these bodybuilders benefit from utilizing supplements like beta alanine powder to help build muscle by converting the amino acid into a protein.

There were 17 categories that qualified from the earlier morning draw after the cut from the ones that failed to advance.

The evening’s competition kicked off with the Women’s Physique and was between Jill Foley and Rhea Proulx with Foley eventually declared the winner and Proulx runner up.

The show continued in the categories of Master Men Body Building lightweight division middleweight light heavyweight and heavyweight men.

Sean Bennett was awarded Master Men Bodybuilding, while Voltaire Gragasin in the lightweight division and Azad Palani in the middleweight.

Grand Masters figure physique was handed out in the Women’s division with Lisa Cindrich taking the figure A.

Nicole Forrest was awarded the B division figure with the short division going to Lisa Cindrich who won her second title defeating Nicole Forest.

Figure Tall division saw Rachel Cornell declared the winner with second and third place going to Christina Shellard and Natasha Sauer respectively.

Two ladies competed in the best body building in the division that saw Rachel Cornell go against Lisa Cindrich with Cornell taking the figure overall champions crown.

Intermission was spent checking out the sponsors booths as well as prepare for an exceptional second half.

Following the intermission it was time for Guest Body Poser Zoa Lindsey to perform, which she did with flair and poise.

Her ability to display exceptional poses brought several standing ovations from the crowd and, while on a side-note these same poses have won her titles since turning pro in 2009.

In addition she has appeared at the Atlas and Schwarzenegger competitions in IBBF championships.

The men took to the stage in the second half beginning with the Men’s Physique short, where James Song was awarded the win.

The Men’s Physique tall 13 competed in this division with the top five vying for the title with the top five were Michael Leslie, Gurjinder Virk, Benjamin Edu, Cody Harker and Daniel Siu.

Gurjinder Virk took first place as well as the top prize the best body building champion, which saw him get crowned.

The Bikini portion rounded out the night’s event of the knight of Champions with Bikini Master Yelena Yermolenko winning the title.

Her son Voltaire Gragasin won an earlier event in the BB Lightweight division pulling off a Mother/Son sweep for the evening.

Next up was the Bikini short division with 10 competitors and the top five were Kristy Jacobs, Billy-Jean Nye, Cassidy McKeown, Danielle Dewar and Arlene Neufeld.

The title went to Kristy Jacobs and the runner up was Cassidy McKeown.

Six competitors were in the Bikini Medium which was won by Sheriece Kowch.

The final division Bikini Tall saw Rachel Brew take the crown over Natalie Amoore, but the overall champion for the evening was Sheriece Kowch, which was her second win of the evening.

Tamara Knight put on a excellent event on this her first as a promoter and is an accomplished Body Builder herself in the industry. \
