Cheaters never win and the sooner that some athletes understand this, the better off sports will be and not just in Canada that involves sports from minor to pro.

Now we are hearing that Milan Mogzi (20) failed a drugs test June 26 and is having his suspension backdated to August 7, which means he is allowed to keep his Gold medal he won as a part of the K2 500m at the European Championships in Belgrade earlier this past June.

The suspension keeps him out of the competition at the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games as well as the next two World Championships, with the first scheduled in Hungary in 2019.

The suspension means that he will not be allowed to return to competition until August 2022, where he claimed Gold in the men’s K4 team at the 2017 European Championships in Bulgaria.

The International Canoe Federation confirmed the sanction that was handed down or assessed by the Hungarian Anti-Doping Group in which it was mentioned “Mozgi tested positive to synthetic erythropoietin, or EPO, following a test carried out on June 26 this year.”

He was a member of the K2-500 crew that won Gold at the European Canoe Sprint Championships in June and the Hungarian Anti-Doping Group again mentioned “That result will stand as the positive test came later that month in an out-of-competition test.”
