Many say it was a fight that never should have happened, while others were sitting in the wings waiting for GSP to return to the ring.

Georges St. Pierre (36) or GSP as he is known to many in the world of MMA was covered with blood dripping down his face, but somehow managed to get a locked choke hold on his opponent in front of a full house at Madison Square Garden.

Michael Bisping was finished and simply put he had no more fight left in him, but for GSP it was a short four years ago he walked away from UFC that many called a mental breather.

Let’s not forget that he started fighting at an early age due to being bullied and wouldn’t you like to see them meet him now to see who would be the better man?

St. Pierre or GSP ended UFC 217 by putting himself in his middleweight championship bout against Michael Bisping which was labeled as a complete mismatch.

Immediately following the fight he (GSP) mentioned “I don’t have words in my mouth right now,” as he wiped blood from his face and headed to the hospital to get stitched up.

This is his (St. Pierre’s) 13th straight UFC victory making it 3 for 3 for the championship in front of 18,201 fans, which was the promotion’s second card in 12 months at the Gardens.

UFC is at a crossroads with box office superstars such as Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey and Jon Jones but it’s fair to say that the UFC needed to “rekindle the old flame or rejuvenate” the fan base moving into 2018.

St. Pierre is one of the UFC’s marquee or draw names that can attract a crowd at a pay-per-view event during his time at the top of the 170-pound division.

Let’s not forget that he (GSP) the Canadian superstar walked away from the MMA in November 2013 as he (St. Pierre) needed a break.

In a match to remember he had takedowns in each of the first two rounds, but  Bisping connected with a direct hit on St. Pierre’s nose opening up a huge cut that covered both fighters in blood as they wrestled to the mat.

It wasn’t until the 4:32 mark of the third that saw St. Pierre (26-2) manage a rear naked choke eliminating any comeback by Bisping that saw him (GSP) win a belt in his second weight class.

While many don’t condone fighting this was a PPV that many couldn’t turn off.
