Just over a week ago I was contacted by good friend Sarah Steward who let me know about an upcoming fundraiser for Horse Council BC that was taking place in Delta.
Her request was to find, assist and if possible help out with this worthwhile event.
Well – I met with Jan Rankin and we discussed ideas and from then it took off with the help of numerous volunteers.
The event was held and the proceeds going to a good cause and several were very open and generous with their donations.
Personally – I want to thank everyone who came out to help with this event on this fun filled sunny day.
The following is the “thank you” note from Jan to every and I wanted to share it with you.

There are so many people to say thank you to for making the BC Strong Art 4 Animals such a great event.
I can’t name each individual but I can acknowledge Jules Davis for having a great idea, Casey Wladichuk for telling Jules to contact me, Ian Paton for asking if we had an auctioneer and Pam Noble Paton for all her support and direction.
Sarah Stewart for painting faces and introducing me to Steve Erickson who became our emcee and friend Bruce Nolte who ran paintings and cleaned up and took down tables and easels.
And the entire membership of the South Delta Artists Guild for providing the gallery space and so many that volunteered time energy paintings and cheer leading.
With “special thanks” to Kathy Swift, Lernnart Osterlind, Beatrice Chi Chow, Shirley Maurice, Cheryl Palmer, Judith Turner, Lea Price, Allen Geddos, Lou Beke, Barb McCurdy, Nancy Dean, Louise Kjorvel and all of you I may miss!!!!
Thanks to Lindsey Duce who designed the elaborate poster for us as we had lots of great comments on it. All POSITIVE!!!
And Vivienne Whitton who did her Vanna best today and wrapping yesterday.
And Sierra, Carol and Ralph. And to Victoria Woodcock and her tribe for bringing Richie and the other miniature horse.
Oh, and thanks to Thea and Lynne McKenzie for their fabulous hobby horses and to Horse Council BC for coming out and telling us all about what you do and the need in our fire ravaged Province.
And to nearly 100 artists who gave gifts from the heart ❤️!
And all the local businesses who gave generously for raffle items and to feed hungry volunteers. And, to all of those who so generously came out and bought art to assist with this very important and immediate need!
The Animals, farmers and ranchers of BC thank you!!!
