2014 Sports Celebrities Festival

The 2014 Sports Celebrities Festival presented by Silver Wheaton promises to be one of Vancouver’s premier sports fundraising events of the year, featuring appearances by local sports heroes, Special Olympics BC athletes, and the entire Vancouver Canucks roster.

This must-attend fundraising gala brings together Vancouver’s most prominent sports celebrities and 650 influential members of the local business community to support two fantastic charities – Special Olympics BC and the Canucks for Kids Fund.

Celebrating the work of both of these charities, the Sports Celebrities Festival is a magical evening saluting the power of the human spirit.

It is about empowering athletes with intellectual disabilities to gain confidence, acceptance and recognition, and it is about celebrating the power of sport to create champions, unlock potential, and break down barriers.

SOBC – Surrey athlete Kristina Ettema and Vancouver Canucks forward Chris Higgins (pictured above left) will be the star speakers at the 2014 Sports Celebrities Festival. Ettema is a Special Olympics swimmer like Higgins’s sister, and just competed in swimming at the Special Olympics Canada 2014 Summer Games!
