Welcome Donation

Published on

While the Canucks might be facing issues on the ice and concern surrounds the coffee table about next season, the Canucks are truly a professional organization that gives to the needy.

General Manager Mike Gillis and his family have joined with Team 1040 to donate $55,000 to the Canucks for Kids Fund (CFKF).

Mike’s wife Diane and daughter Kate were joined by James Stuart, the Regional Vice President of Radio and Local TV, Bell Media, BC, to present the gift to the CFKF today.

This is the sixth annual donation gifted by the Gillis family and Team 1040 to the CFKF. The CFKF is in its 28th year of giving back to children’s charities in British Columbia and has given more than $43 million in that span.

The Canucks for Kids Fund is dedicated to supporting children’s charities in our province and has played a key role in creating and sustaining Canucks Autism Network, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Canucks Family Education Centre, Canucks Centre for BC Hockey and a number of educational programs.

This is by far not the only organization the Canucks support, but only one of a few and to this venture “Sportswave” recognizes the professionalism of the Gillis Family.

Congratulations!!!!
