Travel Tuesday – Sicamous Houseboats – A Holiday Of A Lifetime!!!

April brings a new month for the summer sports that are played in various communities and cities in BC we are expanding our coverage for Sportswave.

While we cover a vast variety of sports given the way the world is twisting with lots of uncertainty in North America which seems to be the topic each day regardless of what coffee shop, ball diamond, soccer pitch or yes even the rinks we are expanding our coverage to call it TRAVEL TUESDAY!!!!

With spring and summer quickly approaching many families are still undecided as to where they are looking to take their summer holidays and are concerned about travel to the US as well as the dollar exchange.

As one family mentioned “it’s about making the right decision for your family and not having to worry about any issues that might arise or crop up.

In conversation with many over the last while everyone we spoke to mentioned that it’s time to stay at home in either Canada for its beauty or even yet stay closer to home and vacation in BC.

While the idea at the time seemed somewhat out of sorts when you think of it, that’s probably one of the best suggestions I have heard  of in the past while.

So staying in BC for the first article, why not visit the beauty of the Interior and spend time visiting Sicamous and spend time vacationing on one of the Sicamous Houseboats.

If you’re looking for peace, tranquility and a place simply to get away this is the vacation you should be considering this year for either the Family or time to regroup with your business colleagues.

Having been on one of the Houseboats I can let you know that my time spent was probably the most enjoyable vacation I have had in a long time simply relaxing.

A houseboat vacation is a unique getaway that allows you to live on a floating home, while navigating through waterways or staying anchored in a picturesque location.

It combines the comforts of home with outdoor adventures while allowing you to enjoy water activities like swimming, fishing and being able to dock on the shoreline to explore nature.

Houseboating is an amazing way to experience life on the water with the flexibility to enjoy both water and shore activities with friends and family in the summer months.

Houseboats offer spacious accommodation and are designed with an emphasis on areas for socializing, dining, and relaxation and feature cozy sleeping quarters.

Should you need more information regarding the dimensions or layout, details of each houseboat are available upon request.

You’re the Captain and control your Houseboat holiday which you simply won’t regret while having one of it, not the best holiday you will ever experience while staying in BC.

To qualify, Captains and Co-Captains must be aged 25 or above, possess a valid driver’s license, and have completed our comprehensive training and orientation program, available upon booking.

The kitchens on the houseboats are spacious and are fully stocked with plates, bowls, cutlery, glasses and cookware, a coffee pot, which makes me want to book on that alone.

For a full list of items that you should consider bringing, please see below.

We provide you a temporary license for driving the houseboats when you complete our comprehensive training and orientation program, however this license does not allow you to pilot other watercraft such as Pontoon boats or Jet skis.

MYBOATCARD® is Canada’s leading provider of the Canadian boating license, also known as the Pleasure Craft Operator Card. You can study, take the test and print your boating license all online.

Use the discount code: SICAMOUS40 to receive a 40% discount from your Canadian Boating License.

You should be aware that the season consists from May to September which offers Sicamous mild to warm weather, with daytime temperatures ranging from 16-35°C (61-95°F) and cooler nights between 5-17°C (41-63°F).

Living in BC you are or should be familiar that during May and June you could experience some rainfall while July and August are the warmest and driest months.

If summer isn’t your cup of tea school returns and if you want to simply get away this might be your month to holiday!!

We’ve added a live stream camera to keep you informed of the latest lakeside weather conditions, click here to view!
