For several individuals in Canada, the winter month’s are spend in local curling clubs allowing men and women to have fun playing a sport they love to take part in.

Some clubs are small, given small town Canada, but others have the luxury to be much larger, thereby attracting more members.

Regardless of the location, the game continues to grow and for many the name of the game is “fun”.

The end of November has an event taking part at the Richmond Curling Club which see Curlers from across Canada taking part what is known as the Dominion Curling Club Championship.

The Dominion Curling Club Championship is an annual event for men’s and women’s curling teams who have won their respective local club championships.

Winning teams from the event will be “The Dominion Club Champions” and play down to produce a provincial/territory champion from all 10 provinces and 3 territories, plus a separate entry for Northern Ontario, who will then compete at the national level.

In 2011, the Richmond Curling Club will host the Canadian Championship from November 21-26.

The event is the ultimate experience for club curlers.  Provincial and Territory Champions receive travel, hotel, accommodations, many meals, Provincial/Territorial on-ice jackets and shirts as well as a championship banner to hang proudly in their home club – all courtesy of The Dominion.

Is your club sending a champion?  To participate, contact your Provincial or Territory Association and sign up today.

Either way – it’ll be a great event.
