North Delta Longhorns

Published on

In Week 2, the Coquitlam edged out North Delta 14-13 after losing their season opener the week before to the White Rock Titans.
They would never look back as they went on to win or tie all their remaining games and finish second overall in the VMFL/VCFL integrated Midget division.
This Saturday, the Longhorns return to Coquitlam looking for some revenge for that early season loss.
The Longhorns have been up and down all year but with four straight wins, including last week’s playoff game against long-time rivals North Surrey, are looking to make their mark.
This should be a great provincial semi-final game to watch as the Longhorns appear to be peaking at the right time against a Falcons team that hasn’t been challenged for several weeks.

Atom: North Surrey Lions (2) at Cloverdale Panthers (1)

Some would say that this is what the VMFL Finals should be – the top two teams at the end of the regular season squaring off for the final bragging rights of the year.

The Panthers finished a perfect 1-0 shutting out all-but-three of their opponents during the regular season. I

n the playoffs, they have won both their games with ease including shutting out South Delta last Sunday.

Now, for the first time this year, they host what might be the one team that can knock them off their pedestal.

The Lions roar into Cloverdale with a 9-1 regular season record including their fair share of shutouts.

Their only loss came in Week 3 against South Delta and since then they’ve won nine straight including last week’s last-second thriller over North Delta.

Thanks to the VMFL for the info. More to follow when it arrives.
