New Kid In Town

With the trading dead-line over for another year the players can now breath a sigh of relief, at least until season’s end.

With Miller out of the line-up the Canucks will dress Jacob Markstrom for the last game (at home) against the Sharks.

Prior to the dead-line the Canucks claimed Delta’s Brandon McMillan from Arizona February 12th and played his first game as a Canuck February 19th in New York.

So for Brandon this move is like coming home so he can play in front of his Family and Friends.

Brandon played his minor hockey in South Delta playing out of both the South Delta Rec Centre and the Ladner Leisure Centre and has fond memories of both complexes.

Following his minor career he started his Major Junior career with the http://www.kelownarockets.com/ in 2006-07.

The fourth season saw him manage a 25 for a 67 point campaign in 2009-10 and was named to the WHL East First All-Star Team.

In 2010 he played for the World Junior’s and managed 4 goals plus 4 assists in 6 games.

The 2016 World Junior Championship will be held in Helsinki

He turned pro in the 2010-11 season and played for the Syracuse Crunch the farm club for the Ducks.

He made his debut on November 21/10, for a Ducks home game in a losing cause against the Oilers

April 3/13, saw him dealt at the trade deadline to the Coyotes for Matthew Lombardi.

While the Canucks might have lost this it’s interesting to remember that Millar is out of the line-up, so it all falls on the Goaltending Coach – Roland Melanson

McMillan finished this game with 11:31 ice time on 16 shifts and was a -1 on the night..
