Langley’s Georgia Ellenwood established a new personal best of 5262 points finishing 18th overall in the heptathlon event.
Taylor Farquhar of Belmont, Ont., qualified for the 400-metre hurdles final placing third in the fastest of the three semi final heats. She clocked a new personal best of 57.82 seconds.
The final is tomorrow at 8:45pm local time (2:45pm ET). Sage Watson of Medicine Hat crossed the line in fourth in a personal best time of 58.04 seconds, but did not advance to the final.
Tyler Smith of Westaskiwin, Alta., and Brandon McBride of Windsor, both qualified into the men’s 800-metres semi finals. Brandon finished first in heat 7 with Tyler placing third in heat 4 in 1:49.77 and 1:48.78 respectively.
The boy’s 4×100-metres relay team finished fourth in their heat.
The team of Devon Rittinger of Kitchener, Drelan Bramwell of Sarnia, Mobolade Ajomale of Richmond Hill, and Calvin Arsenault of Kitchener clocked in at 40.58 seconds.
The girl’s 4×100-metres relay team (Paiement, Bingham, Fofanah, Davis) was disqualified and did not advance to the final
In the morning session, 100-metre hurdlers Deshaunda Morrison (13.83) of Calgary, and Nicole Setterington (13.98) of London, both qualified for the semi finals.
