Gallagher ‘s Return

Playing in the pro’s is something that not everyone will be able to say, but Delta’s Brendan Gallaher is one that currently is suiting up with one of the original six teams and that is worth something that not everyone will be able to say.

Gallagher went from playing on the back yard rink in Edmonton, prior to moving and playing minor hockey in South Delta which taught him the skill level of the game.

Brendan’s was paid special recognition prior to the game by having his name added to the Giants Ring of Honour, which is on display on the wall just up from the visiting team’s bench.

While he played him minor in South Delta he want on to excel in the WHL for the Giants  and leads them as the all-time leading scorer, having played 244 regular season games.

He set team records for the most goals (136) and most points (280) in a career and had he played for another season or two, who knew what his stats would be.

The Giants return home following a 2-1 overtime loss last evening to Everett Silvertips with Rathjen making 29 saves earning second star in the contest.

Earlier in the day former Giants trainer Chad Scarf sent a note out on Twitter stating “Congrats to Gally, you are a true Giant both on and off the ice. A true inspiration to many.”

This night saw the Giants play host to the second place Winterhawks in what they hope they are able to break their team record of 15 straight wins, in addition to winning both games this season against the Giants.
