From minor to pro are steps that all athletes take to achieve success at the level they have dreamed of from the day they started to their first meeting with their scout.

Anyone can tell you that you have to learn how to walk before you can run and such is the case when it comes to reaching and achieving your dream goal and currently the CEBL currently has ten players on NBA G League rosters.

Locally in the lower mainland and in particular the Fraser Valley we have been fortunate to watch the Fraser Valley Bandits entertain the locals with not only a unique style of the game, but more so extremely entertaining.

It’s always a dream of any athlete to reach the pro level, but it’s the ones who help them achieve their eventual dream goal and now we are hearing of the first CEBL player to sign a pro contract with the NBA Milwaukee Bucks who play in Central Division in the Eastern Conference

In a recent press release from the CEBL as announced by Mike Morreale (CEO/Commissioner he mentions “We are incredibly happy for Javin as he signs his contract today becoming the first CEBL player to move on to the NBA and as s a league we celebrate Javin’s achievements and thank him for making our league a stop along his basketball journey. We can’t wait to tune in.”

He (DeLaurier) appeared in 12 games with the Bucks NBA G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, this season, averaging 7.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 17.0 minutes and signed with the Herd September 27, 2021 following his 2021 CEBL season with the Niagara River Lions.

His size ((6’10”) was well used when he was playing with the River Lions as he averaged 14.8 points, 10.4 rebounds as well as 26.4 minutes adding to his selection to the All-CEBL team after Niagra advanced to the championship game.

Milwaukee were winners of the 2020-21 NBA Championship and officially announced they have signed Javin DeLaurier to a 10-day contract, which makes DeLaurier the first player to have played with a CEBL team then added to an NBA roster.

As for minor pro B-Ball the CEBL is set to begin it’s fourth season in May where we will be able to catch the Brandits entertain the many fans at the Abbotsford Entertainment Center, currently home for the AHL Abbotsford Canucks.

All CEBL players bring a high level of experience ranging from the NBA, NBA G League, top international leagues, the Canadian National team program, and top NCAA programs as well as U SPORTS. And is the only First Division Professional League Partner of Canada Basketball,

The CEBL season tips off in May 2022 and runs through August 2022 and for anyone looking to find additional info visit CEBL.ca
