C’s Justin Atkinson Hit’s Double

Canadians 1B Justin Atkinson hit a double to lead off the bottom of the 10th inning which was the catalyst to a 6-5 victory for the Northwest League over the Pioneer League on Tuesday night out at Avista Stadium.

Four Vancouver Canadians took part in the midsummer classic that pitted the two leagues against each other with LHP Brandon Hinkle, RHP Andrew Case, RF Sean Hurley and 1B Justin Atkinson all contributing to the extra-innings victory.

 

Hinkle pitched the top of the 6th inning allowing a solo home run to David Denson that gave the Pioneer League a 3-1 lead.

RHP Andrew Case would pitch a scoreless top of the 7th inning allowing a walk while striking out Daniel Suero to keep the game within reach.

OF Sean Hurley managed a walk in two at-bats after pinch-hitting for Tri-City OF Jose Carlos Urena.  1B Justin Atkinson went 2-for-3 with a double after replacing Boise 1B Brian Mundell with the double sparking a game-winning hit off the bat of Tri-City 2B Peter Van Gansen that sent the Northwest League to a 6-5 victory in 10 innings.
