He came – he saw – and he is heading for success at the French Open.

Milos Raonic surprised some skeptics and pulled off an impressive win the fourth five-set match of his young career allowing him to advance to the fourth round of the French Open Tennis Championship.

Raonic is currently the men’s No. 8 seed and he needed a little more than three hours to oust Frenchman Gilles Simon in sets of 4-6, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5.

He becomes the first Canadian man into the fourth round at Roland Garros, which is a true testament to his dedication.

Raonic hammered 19 aces but came up short while serving for victory and the final outcome saw him take a 6-5 lead thus earning the victory in the ensuing game where Simon hit a long return on match point.

Raonic advanced with 60 winners and six of 12 break points converted, but also committed 74 unforced errors.

Congrats to the young man from Ontario.
