Delta Hosts Community Watch Party

Given the impressive season the Vancouver Canucks have had and again making the playoffs after a long doubt it’s no surprise that the street parties once again return to 72nd and Scott Road.

The hype and the frenzy shown in various communities outshines what other areas in the lower mainland are doing or possibly planning to do should they make it past the first round.

We all know that groups can be rowdy and act out of sort at times cause some individuals simply want to be “the show” and not think about causing harm to anyone which is not only wrong – it’s selfish.

The “block parties” on Scott Road at 72nd continue to grow in size and at times cause issues for not only the community but also put an added burden on the local police in the area.

Knowing this the police in both cities have to stretch their police work to delegate it to other areas to offset any possible crime that should and we know it will happen.

This only happens mainly due to what can best be described as “the low-life’s” that have nothing better to do than disrupt and want to be “the show” or better yet be the “showoff.”

Sad but true, so in keeping the community safe the City have set up “party central” for free watch parties which located at Social Heart Plaza at the North Delta Rec Centre at 114th and 84th.

So make plans to attend and bring your Family and Friends knowing you’ll be safe while having fun at the same time and cheer on the Canucks on their quest for the Stanley Cup.

PS: Now we are seeing that the Brad West the Mayor of the Port Coquitlam are following Delta but hearing that the area will be decorated in Canuck colors.

What City will be next?
