CANUCKS SIGN JENSEN

Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced that the Canucks have signed forward Nicklas Jensen.

Jensen, 18, has appeared in one NHL Pre-Season game in 2011-12, recording two points (1-1-2) en route to 4-3 Canucks win over the Calgary Flames on September 20 at Rogers Arena.

He spent the 2010.11 season with the Oshawa Generals, collecting 58 points (29-29-58) in 61 games played.

In his first year in the OHL, he ranked fourth on the team in scoring and fifth in the OHL among rookies.

Jensen tied for the team lead in goals (7) during the 2011 playoffs.

On the international stage, Jensen helped Denmark win the Division I 2011 World Junior Championship. In 2009.10, the Herning,

Denmark, native recorded 26 points (12-14-26) in 34 games with Herning Blue Fox Denma.

Jensen was drafted by Vancouver in the first round, 29th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
