CANUCKS PURCHASE PEORIA RIVERMEN
Canucks Sports & Entertainment announced today that the organization has agreed to purchase the Peoria Rivermen franchise from the St. Louis Blues.
The transaction is subject to approval by the American Hockey League. “This is an exciting opportunity for the Canucks,” said Canucks Sports & Entertainment Owner and Chairman, Francesco Aquilini. “The purchase of the Peoria franchise allows us to take an important step and assume full control of our minor league development program.”
Out of respect for the AHL approval process the Canucks and Blues will not have further comment at this time.
Of course the main question asked around the lower mainland is “why is Abbotsford not the home for the Canucks Farm Club?” Easy – Calgary asked first!!
