Annie Lee Shoots Course Record

Annie Lee of Surrey cards a new course record at Princeton Golf Club to take a three-stroke lead in the Juvenile Girls’ while Henry Lee of Coquitlam further separated himself from the field in the Juvenile Boys’.

Annie Lee, 16, came into the day in a tie for third at +2 before carding what turned out to be a new woman’s course record with a three-under-par 70, good enough for a 145 two-day total (75-70).

Her round featured a staggering six birdies, offset by three bogeys.

Sitting alone in second place is first round leader Janet Zhang of Richmond. The fifteen year old member of Quilchena G&CC followed up an opening round even par with a second round +2, 75 to sit at a two day 148 total (73-75).

Rounding out the top three is fifteen year old Maple Ridge resident Keanna Mason who fired her second-consecutive two over par 75, leaving her five strokes back of Lee at +4 (75-75-150).

In the Boys’ division, Henry Lee, 14 of Coquitlam, continued to set the pace as he followed up his first round four-under-par 68 with a -1 round of 71.

The two-round-total of 139, -5 (68-71) now has him four strokes ahead of his nearest competitors. Three players sit in that tie for second at a one-under par, two round total of 143.

These players are fifteen year old Jake Scarrow of Dewdney (70-73), fifteen year old Patrick Tan of Vancouver (72-71) and thirteen year old Roy Kang of North Vancouver (74-69).

Kang’s three-under-par 69 was the round of the day at Princeton Golf Club

Following round two, a cut in the Boys’ division to the lowest 60 players and ties was made. The cut line sat at 165 (+21) with 63 players making it into final round action tomorrow.

The Girls’ division did not have a 36-hole cut. Taking place concurrently during the first two round was the Zone Team competition with the winners representing Zone 4.

The team of Trevor Yu (Vancouver), Kevin Vigna (Coquitlam), Chris Crisologo (Richmond) and Diego San Pedro (Richmond) fired a two-day aggregate team total of +8, 440, good enough for a three-shot victory over Zone 3.

Final round action of both the Juvenile Boys’ and Girls’ is set to take place tomorrow morning.

Spectators are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Entrance is free-of-charge.
