It’s now official. Jessica Hewitt was named to Speed Skating Canada’s Short Track team to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi,

Russia! All of BC is very proud of your tremendous accomplishment, Jess. We look forward to your World  Cup activity leading up to the OWG!

Update:

Jessica had a personal best time while finishing 8th in the 1500m and helping her team to a 4th place finish in the relay as they competed in the first of two Olympic Winter Games World Cup qualifying events in Italy . Now its on to Russia to qualify Canada for the OWG.

Update:

Josie Spence, in her World Cup debut, set a personal best in the 1500m and Denny Morrison had 11th place finishes in both 1000m + 1500m as they competed in the 1st World Cup Long Track Speed Skating event in Calgary November 8-10.

Courtney Shmyr,  Michelle Mackay, Jamie MacDonald and Jesse Keca are all competing in the Canadian Open Short Track Championships Nov 15-17, 2013 in Montreal.

Cheer on our skaters in this event which also is the first of two selection events to determine the Canadian National and Development teams for next season.
