The Prince George Timberwolves Men’s Soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the University of Lethbridge which saw U of L midfield Dominic Point du Jour score the only goal of the game.
Point du Jour controlled a rebound and managing to angle it back behind the Timberwolves keeper in the 75th minute.
Timberwolves Center midfield Tyson Hunter was named player of the game that saw Hunter create a forward drive permitting forwards Danny Dell and Sourosh Amani to pressure the U of L Pronghorns defense.
A physical game resulted in four yellow cards being awarded to the Pronghorns and one to the Timberwolves.
Emotions continued to run high after Amani went down with a game ending injury in the 70th minute. Timberwolves Defender Logan Phenuff played all 90 minutes after returning from an ankle injury.
His energetic play and vision of the entire field allowed the Timberwolves to play an aggressive style only to be denied the numerous shots by the Timberwolves.
The Pronghorns defense was showcased in the first half. Center back Brett Silbernagel controlled and led the UofL backline in a 90 minute effort to keep UNBC from entering the Pronghorn’s third.

Fouls were the name of the game when the Timberwolves Men’s Soccer team squared off against the UFV Cascades. The Cascades finished 3-0 over the Timberwolves put up 13 fouls while UNBC added 18 to the total.
The teams will meet again tomorrow for their second game of the weekend. The Cascades put up a valiant effort against the UNBC defense in the first half.
The visiting side took multiple shot attempts with two scoring opportunities being waved off due to an offside player.
Several missed opportunities lite a fire under UFV, prompting them come out in the second half with a transformed focus.
Surrey’s James Najman was the first of the Cascades to find a hole in the UNBC defense. Confusion in front of the net amounted to a corner kick from Ryan Liddiard only to have it bounce off a Timberwolves defender, rebound off the post, and end up in front of Najman who placed the ball over UNBC keeper Tyrone Venhola in the 51st minute.
The Cascades, now 2-3-4, were able to add two more goals before the end of the match. One occurred in minute 73 by Coquitlam’s Dalibur Plasvic who move around his defender, the second in the 76 minute by Koby Bryne.
Both goals were unassisted. The Timberwolves defense played a tight aggressive game, holding the Cascades scoreless at the half. Offensive pressure from the Timberwolves, who fall to 0-11-0, came from Forwards Danny Dell and Tyson Hunter, who have been working together all season.
UNBC player of the game Alan Zhao (Dalian, Liaoning CHN) added scoring opportunities that the Timberwolves have been missing since star forward Sourosh Amani was sidelined due to injury.
