Testing Still Needed

Drugs are still involved and used at all levels of sport and even when used at the Olympic level, you would think that the users would understand it’s wrong, but apparently not!!

It was only a matter of time that someone would get caught  and get to be know as the first Athlete to use Drugs and get disqualified at the games in Sochi.

It is reported by Reuters as posted through The Independent that Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle has become the first individual to deliver an abnormal A sample at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

This was followed by a report that Italian bobsledder William Frullani was also kicked out of the games for use of Drugs, this is according to a report by ESPN.

The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) apparently alerted by the International Olympic Committee, said that the “‘A’ sample of a member of the German Olympic team produced a result that diverged from the norm.”

The German spokesman Stefan Schwarzbach also confirmed that the Athlete’s A sample failed to meet regulations but when on to say at the time that without “a positive ‘B’ sample, we are not allowed to talk about that.”

Sachenbacher-Stehle had already competed in several biathlon events in Sochi, but had not won any medal and her best showing was a fourth-place finish in the mass start on Feb. 17 and a fourth-place finish in the mixed relay.

She’s appeared in three Winter Olympics and has won five (5) medals, that included a Gold in team sprint at Vancouver and a Gold in 4×5 km at Salt Lake City.

ESPN has reported that the bobsledder was removed from the Italians’ four-man sled and replaced by Samuele Romanini.

Frullani was a former international decathlete, but had switched over to bobsled and gained a spot on Italy’s Olympic squad at age 34.

Regardless of who the individual is or the Country of origin, this has to come to a stop and sooner or later, it’s time to look at disqualifying the Country.

Think that would put a stop to this?
