Sports Day In Canada – Huge Success

The last Saturday this year proved to be Sports Day in Canada and from what I hear it was well attended in various areas of the Country.

The start for those attending was slow in some areas, but the staff that were in charge did  a remarkable job in keeping everyone in line and well informed of the day’s events.

Delta’s day was both in Sungod Arena in North Delta and the South area was held in the South Delta Rec Centre, both run by the Corporation of Delta.

While it involved great participation from all areas, PARTICIPATION President sent out the following note to thank everyone that took part.

On the heels of the fourth annual RBC Sports Day in Canada, Saturday November 30, we say thank you!

Thank you to the organizations who hosted over 1800 RBC Sports Day in Canada events in their communities.

Thank you to over a million Canadians who “got out and played” and watched the broadcast, visited events, wore their jerseys and celebrated the power of sport.

Thank you to all the politicians and athletes who shared their experiences with Canadians, young and old.

Thank you to RBC, True Sport, CBC and all of our supporters for helping us create and deliver this inspiring initiative.

Together, we shone a spotlight on sport and its ability to bring us together, spark national spirit and promote healthy, active living.

Thank you for joining us in this national celebration of sport!
