Snowboard Cross Team Selection

BC Snowboard Association is pleased to invite all eligible Snowboard Cross athletes to try out for the Provincial Program – April 28, 2012 in Whistler. Deadline for registration is April 25, 2012
The BC Provincial Snowboard Cross Team operates within a 12 month program providing on and off hill training as well as support at FIS events provincially, nationally and internationally.
Each athlete’s training and competition plan will be based upon where he/she falls within the Canadian LTAD structure (long term athlete development).
In order to attend the BC Provincial Snowboard Cross Team Selection Camp, an athlete should be at least 15 years of age (unless pre-selected through talent ID at BC Snowboard Provincial Series events), have some competitive experience and hold a BC Snowboard membership.
The ideal candidate will be: Athletic and competitive oriented and be looking to improve and fine tune his/her snowboard skills 15 years of age or older (at December 31, 2012) for Provincial Teams is recommended Interested in competing at a National level Experienced in competing in Regional and Provincial competitions Dedicated to training both on the snow and off.
Please note that in order to be eligible to try out for the BC Provincial Snowboard Cross Team, it is necessary to have competed in at least one FIS Snowboard Cross race or BC Snowboard Provincial Series event during the 2011-2012 season.
There is no coaching cost to the participants to participate in the Selection Camp.
