There’s winning and then there’s teaching the team to play in such a manner so as to respect their opposition, but this only happens in amateur sports – not the pro’s.
A Southern California high school basketball Coach was suspended and is facing accusations of intentionally running up the score in which his team won a game by a huge margin of 161-2.
According to some involved in the sport, this is clearly one of the most lopsided and unjust scores in state history – ever.
Michael Anderson the Coach of the Arroyo Valley High girls team was suspended for two (2) games following the victory over Bloomington High.
He stated that “he wasn’t trying to run up the score or embarrass the opposition.”
In previous games the team had won four prior games by at least 70 points and after all Bloomington had already lost a game by 91.
So when it comes down to it – were they right in handing down a suspension to the Coach for what turned out to be no fun for his players, never mind those watching it.
Who’s RIGHT?
