Luck Of The Irish Secures Gritty St. Paddy’s Win Over Las Vegas

If you live in the lower mainland getting to the game on time means leaving earlier than your normal regular time due in part to the driving habits of those who are in a hurry to go  nowhere fast.

That along with construction creates major distributions, but as long as no one hit any overpass the only solution is leaving early.

Playing a couple of days prior to St. Patrick’s Day with many placing their bets on the home team naturally puts extra expectations on the home squad but never say never.

The game which saw the Warriors start slowly, giving up early goals saw a major swing in the second half in  a contest that many called a nail-biter.

The Warriors displayed both resilience and tenacity, clinching a hard-fought victory over the Las Vegas Desert Dogs pulling out a 13-12 win that had the crowd cheering the squad on from the initial faceoff.

Despite a strong showing from Vegas, particularly in the early quarters, the Warriors’ determination shone through as they capitalized on crucial moments to secure the win.

The game witnessed a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, with Las Vegas initially gaining momentum in the first half.

However, the Warriors mounted a formidable comeback in the third quarter, outscoring their opponents with a three-goal run that propelled them forward.

This surge in performance continued into the fourth quarter, where Vancouver’s relentless defense and strategic offense enabled them to match Vegas goal for goal, ultimately securing the narrow win thanks to an Adam Charalambides goal late in the 4th.

Reflecting on the game, forward Ryan Martel highlighted the team’s mindset during crucial moments, stating, “I think it took a bit of air when they scored, but no one was hanging their heads or upset and we just kept saying,

What’s next? It’s our turn, we’re going to get the lead back. So we just stuck to it and it turned out good.”

The standout performances of key players underscored Vancouver’s strength and depth on the field.

Adam Charalambides, whose decisive goal sealed the win, alongside Ryan Martel, showcased their scoring prowess with four goals each.

Additionally, Keegan Bal’s exceptional nine-point contribution, consisting of three goals and six assists, further showed the Warriors’ offensive capabilities.

Keegan Bal emphasized the team’s growing belief and cohesion, stating, “You always want to come together as a team and start to play, you know, in those tough moments and know that you’re going to get stops, you’re going to get goals. And I just think we have a lot of belief right now in the room.”

Head Coach Curt Malawsky praised the team’s resiliency and fighting spirit, stating, “Resiliency.

You know, I talked about it after Buffalo, and that’s kind of our last core values being resilient. And, you know, we’re down seven two, but we battled back and we always stayed in the fight.”

The Warriors’ victory not only was on the field but also showed the unwavering support of their fans.

Adam Charalambides expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic fan base, stating, “We’re really blessed to have great fans here in Vancouver and really proud of our group to get two home wins back to back. We want to keep winning out the rest of the season here at home.

And it’s just electric, like those Go Warriors go chants in a one goal game. Like that’s the stuff you dream of when you’re a kid.”

Looking ahead, the  Warriors look to keep the momentum  going as they head south to face the Philadelphia Wings at the Wells Fargo Center March 23 scheduled for 4 PM Vancouver start time.

Make plans to attend  and cheer on YOUR WARRIORS!!
