With the upcoming season around the corner, the BC Lions are heavily involved in the community throughout the Province so as to hype the season in addition to showing support for Fortis BC Energy.
Some of the current members of the BC Lions, which include players such as including Adam Bighill, Courtney Taylor, Jason Arakgi, Dean Valli, Shawn Gore and Rolly Lumbala are making several stops at schools in the lower mainland and Kamloops this week.
Now entering its fifth season, the FortisBC Energy Champions program is designed specifically for children in kindergarten through grade seven, emphasizing the importance of environmental responsibility and being an ‘Energy Champion’.
In 2013, the initiative visited 75 elementary schools throughout British Columbia, inspiring more than 22,000 students to play an active role in
reducing their environmental footprint.
Lions in the House is presented by CN and supporting partner Industry Training Authority.
This program was designed and created for kids in grades six through nine and the redesigned Lions in the House program is focused on the power of choice.
Students will be challenged and asked to examine areas of personal safety around railway tracks and will be encouraged to look at the tremendous career opportunities trades provide.
This program is well designed and teaches todays youth, in hopes that the future will be brighter.
