Sports is a finicky world and when any team and/or organization fails to produce the fall guy seems to be the Coach and now the one taking the fall is the Head Coach of the US Men’s National Soccer team.

His Family business was owning and operating a bakery in Germany and while he may have been a world class baker or chef  as one of four sons, he chose bakerysoccer.

As a youngster Klinsmann played youth soccer  program called the Stuttgarter Kickers as a 14 year-old and went on to sign a pro contract as a 16 year-old, making his debut at age 17 in the second division Bundesliga.

In only his third season he had managed to score 19 goals in only 35 matches and eventually signed with VtB Stuttgart, helping his club reach the German Club  reach the German Cup final in 1986 and the UEFA Cup final in 89.

In a short career of only 4 years he became to the top scorer in the Bundesliga and was also named Player of the Year in Germany and while there he met what came to be his American wife Debbie.

They currently reside in California along with their two children and until earlier today was the Head Coach of the Men’s National Soccer Team in the US.

He was hired by to Coach the Men’s National team in the US in 2011 and was to be the one responsible for giving the  US team a new identity as well as a fresh and new pro-active approach to the program.

Coaches make promises and then for whatever reason fail to deliver, but while he managed to get the US out of a difficult group at the 2014 World Cup, that was all he could manage to deliver up.

Others look at his dismissal in part due to the player pool he had to select from, but one can question the other CONCACAF countries are advancing fine and developing at a fast pace.

His team lost to Jamaica in the semi-final at the 2015 Gold Cup, which was soon followed by the loss to Mexico as well as the qualifying loss to Guatemala, plus a two loss start in the Hexagonal, where the US is at the bottom.

He’s not the only National Coach to be fired and he now joins Bob Bradley on the Men’s side, plus Tom Sermanni on the Women’s side as two other coaches released prior to finishing the World Cup Cycle of competition.

Talk is cheap, especially when it comes to management as if you recall it was only a short nine days ago that Gulati stated he (Klinsmann) would be in us-soccercharge for the entire round of the qualifying.

Hard to put the blame on one person as it takes more than one to get the right mix, which is no different than making stew for the Family, but in this case it seems all the ingredients were wrong!

Time for the US to find the next chef who can find the right receipt for success!!
