Kamloops Hosts 2013 Skate Canada

The Valleyview Skating Club will welcome hundreds of adult figure skaters this week as they host the 2013 Skate Canada Adult Figure Skating Championships.

The event will run from April 5-7, 2013, at the McArthur Island Sport and Events Centre.   Adult skaters from across the country will compete in four disciplines: free skate, interpretive, ice dance and synchronized skating.

“This is one of our most unique events. We get to see how skating for life has paid off. These adult skaters have spent many hours on the ice perfecting their programs and living a healthy lifestyle. At Skate Canada we are proud to showcase their accomplishments here in Kamloops at the 2013 Skate Canada Adult Figure Skating Championships,” said Benoît Lavoie, Skate Canada President.

Tickets for the general public will be available for purchase at the McArthur Island Sport and Events Centre at the registration desk.   All-event tickets are $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under 12 and seniors.

Single event tickets are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for children under 12 and seniors. Children under five are free of charge.
