Gift Of Sport – KidSport Delta

With many finishing up their hockey season and others set to kick-off their season it’s time that we should spend time and focus on those who are less fortunate to play any sport only due to the cost.

We all know that sport in today’s world isn’t affordable tor some families who are forced to sit on the side-lines and watch their friends play a sport they would love to get involved in.

A few years back I managed to take a friend who had never attended in the past and they were totally amazed at not just the night, but how KidSport actually helps out Kids in Delta.

Each year KidSport Delta holds a fundraiser and this year being no exception which is being held at Tsawwassen Springs called Casino Night with tickets still available.

We all enjoy sports either in person at an event or on the “Tube” but have you ever wondered about those who are unable to participate for whatever reason which may vary from family to family.

Regardless the reason having the ability to attend several sporting events I for one am shocked at the youngsters that I talk with who have told me “we can’t play cause Mom can’t afford it” and this is where KidSport Delta helps out.

This event is currently looking for sponsorship which you can get involved in for only $500.00 which isn’t much if you think of all the money we throw away over a coffee, lunch or an evening out.

Let’s all forgo one of the nice things that we are fortunate to enjoy and help those less fortunate.

If you are able to attend this year’s event you’ll enjoy their guest speaker who has Olympic medals to let you touch for a moment.

This year they are thrilled to announce that the annual KidSport Delta Fundraising Gala will be held on April 26th, 2025, and we would love for you to join us again for a memorable evening in support of local youth sports!
Help Us Fund 300 Local Kids in Sports!  

Our goal for the Gift of Sport Casino Night is to raise $150,000—enough to give 300 local kids the opportunity to play sports. But we need your help!

We provide grants to help cover the costs of registration fees so that all kids aged 18 and under in Delta can play a season of sport. 

Our chapter accepts applications and administers grants of up to $500 per child per calendar year, for kids who live in Delta.

All funds raised by KidSport Delta stay in our community to get local kids off the sidelines and into a season of sport.   Let’s work together to build strong kids and strong communities!
