The best of three series starts Thursday night at War Memorial as we take on the University of Northern BC. UNBC finished the year at 12-8 and 2nd place in the Explorer Division.

I will save the conversation about the playoff structure because it is a very unique format.

The league is struggling to find a way to make two divisions work with a conference that has 17 teams, two time zone changes and the biggest issue of travel costs.

The current league and playoff format is supposed to stay the same for one more year and then we will probably see something entirely different.

Nevertheless, the winner of our series will move on to the Canada West Final Four.

It will be next to impossible for a Canada West team to get the wildcard in to the National Championships since Ontario has dominated the top 5 spots in the weekly Top 10 polls.

Ryerson will host Nationals and get the automatic berth and the series for this weekend are all are best of three series.

Thanks to the UBC Athletics Department for the info.
