Canadians 2012 Champions

Published on

The Vancouver Canadians headed to Boise and took game one of the NWL Championship series over the power-house Boise Hawks.

They took game one and gave game two away. Game three featured a strong start for the C’s as they took two runs in the top of the first, but allowed Boise to get four in the bottom of one, making it a 4-2 game.

They again took a 5-4 lead, but allowed Boise to come back giving them a tie at five. A high head-high pitch sparked the C’s to come to life.

At this point it was a war of words between players on both clubs, giving the “Boy’s in Blue” a headache; which was short lived.

It was clearly a battle between the pitchers and the sluggers that saw the C’s light em-up in the top of eight with 7 runs before heading to the dug-out.

The game featured play by play man Rob Fai barking out calls allowing the excitement to mount, pitch to pitch.

He called a great game and his enthusiasm in the top of the eighth captured us all.

The 7 runs saw the C’s go on to defeat the Boise 12-9 at Memorial Stadium in what many would call a game of a life-time.

The two teams put up 21 runs and 29 hits through nine innings of play giving Manager Clayton McCullough his first NWT title and the “C’s back to back Championships.

“CONGRATULATIONS TO THE VANCOUVER CANADIANS” from the Sportswave Team.
