Canada Winter Games

It’s been a long road to Halifax and the Canada Winter Games for the team, but they did what they set out to do.

The team consists of 20 players plus coaching staff and for some the transition was not as easy as they thought.

Gold was the colour and GOLD was what they bring home. Sure they had some concerns, but they never lost focus.

The first game saw a loss (5-4) to Quebec in O/T but saw Nicholas Petan get a goal and two assists. Game 2 saw them play Nova Scotia where they walked away with an 8-3 win.

The following day where many were thinking about giving presents to their loved one’s, BC had there heart broken as Ontario handed them a 5-1 loss, with the lone goal coming off the stick of Curtis Lazar.

The had a day to re-coup any thoughts of the loss and on the 16th they played an afternoon game where they managed to double-up Manitoba by a 4-2 score. Lazar got a pair, while Petan and Clarke got singles.

Within less than 24 hours of this games finish they played the mighty Ontario squad, with a 7:30 face-off.

This game saw Lazar notch a hat-trick, while Bowen and Sanfor grab singles giving them a win and a step into the final against Quebec.

This game saw BC hand a “thumping” to Quebec by a score of 7-4 with goals coming from various players, in additionto seeing Lazar grab another hat-trick in the contest. The team played disciplined hockey taking two of the six minors handed out.
