Ball Hockey Update – Controversy Continues

The controversy apparently continues mostly due to a situation that could have been resolved years back but with friendship and such the situation was allowed to continue which directly affects the sport.

Moving forward from a situation that eventually ended up in court that was somewhat put on the |”backburner” possibly hoping that the situation would either go away or be resolved, but just not sure how you resolve a situation of this magnitude.

We received the following and want to keep everyone in the “loop” as to this continuing what is referred to as a “soap opera” in the world of BC Ball Hockey.

On a side-note we have yet to receive any response from the current (many be not so current) executive and when we do we’ll be sure to keep you up to date.

The controversy is only hurting the sport in BC which never should have even ended up in the courts, but it’s a sad and changing world that takes many twists and turns.

Enjoy the read:

This is a letter from the CBHA clarifying that the BCBHA is still suspended, that suspension is ongoing, and an official external investigation is underway to evaluate the evidence and allegations against the BCBHA for what I would call wanton wide-spread corruption.

All tournaments run by the BCBHA are currently *unsanctioned*, and will thus mean nothing to providing teams/players an avenue to sanctioned national or international tournaments.

It is my understanding however that this suspension is not meant to hurt individual players, and great lengths are being taken to protect their availability for national and international events.

Note for those of you on the island:

If you are a part of the IBHA, the Island Ball Hockey Association, you will also be under investigation as the IBHA was formed in conjunction with the BCBHA’s direct oversight, and have been implicated in several of the nine allegations originally cited in the BCBHA suspension.

The IBHA and the former Comox Valley Ball Hockey League have been expelled from the Comox valley, and have nothing to do with the new C4 Ball Hockey League .

Unfortunately, the reputation of anyone affiliated with the BCBHA or the IBHA will likely be affected by the findings of this investigation.

As the letter states, there will be further follow up, and the investigation is underway. If anyone is confused about what to do as a result of this letter,

I encourage you to reach out to the CBHA directly or a league operator who is not implicated in this BCBHA suspension.

On the island, you have both myself and/or Aidan William that are willing and able to answer *any* and *all* questions that you might have.
