Published on

On the night in Vancouver when the BC Lions host the 2014 Orange Helmet Awards where the guest speaker is former Alouettes Quarterback Anthony Calvillo, they announced they will be hosting the 2014 Canadian Football Hall of Fame Induction.

This is the first time that the annual event will be held in Montreal and we will see it take place on the weekend of September 20- 21.

This is the 51st induction ceremony, as Ben Cahoon and Uzooma Okeke will be inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.

BC Lions GM and Montrealer Wally Buono, who incidentally won two Grey Cups as a player with the Alouettes prior to becoming an Assistant Coach with the Montreal Concordes, will also be inducted in the builder’s category.

Also named to the Induction Class of 2014 were former CFL players Maurice (Moe) Racine, Charles Roberts as well as amateur builder Larry Haylor and amateur player Neil Lumsden.

The Hall of Fame Game will be played at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, September 21 when the Stampeders visit the Alouettes.

The new inductees and Hall of Fame guests will be honoured during a half-time presentation and ceremony on the field.

Congratulations to everyone on this great honour.
