All Canadian Final

Most of us think of tennis as a summer sport, but for those on the west coast it’s played year-round in either indoor courts or outdoor courts that might be covered.

Once you have perfected your talent, it’s on to bigger and better events that can take you around the world to play on large stages in front of thousands of on-lookers.

Such was the case of two, yes two Canadian players by the names of Charlotte Robillard-Millette and Bianca Andreescu.

Robillard-Millette went on Sunday to win her tenth straight match and second consecutive singles title at the Grade 1 ITF junior event in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, France.

Robillard-Millette came out on top 6-4, 7-5 in the all-Canadian final between two of the hottest players on the ITF junior circuit this season.

The 16-year-old member of Tennis Canada’s National Training Centre picks up her first title at a Grade 1 event and improves to an impressive 20-4 on the year.

She will improve her current career-high ranking of no. 36 on Monday and will remain Canada’s top ranked junior girl.

Andreescu, who is a young 14 years of age is now 18-4 in 2015 with one title and four finals and was appearing in her first Grade 1 ITF championship match.

Andreescu, Robillard-Millette, and Katherine Sebov will represent Canada this week at the junior Fed Cup qualifier event in Boca Raton, Florida.
