How do you celebrate one of the biggest milestones in your event’s history? You throw a huge concert!
On Friday, February 14, 2014, CN Centre and the 2015 Canada Winter Games present
“One Year to the 2015 Games”
with the band Hedley, marking 365 days until the Opening Ceremony for the largest multi-sport and cultural event the northern BC region has ever hosted.
Vancouver-based JUNO Award winning, multi-platinum selling group, Hedley will be the headliner for the concert, in part because of their hometown connection to the City of Prince George. Lead guitarist for the band, Dave Rosin, grew up in Prince George.
“The venue has significance to the 2015 Canada Winter Games, but so does the band,” explains Glen Mikkelsen.

“The venue has significance to the 2015 Canada Winter Games, but so does the band,” explains Glen Mikkelsen,
Entertainment & Marketing at CN Centre and Festivals Chair for the 2015 Canada Winter Games. “Hedley has a local tie to this community which is significant. Each event we undertake to recognize these important milestones builds on the northern story and what will make the 2015 Canada Winter Games a unique and magical experience for everyone involved.”
The concert will take place at one of the official venues for both men and women’s
hockey for the 18 days of the Canada Games: the CN Centre. It’s also the location of the Opening Ceremony for the 2015 Canada Winter Game—the nationally-televised opener for the largest multi-sport competition the region has ever hosted.
“As the 2015 Games gets closer, the momentum will continue to build, and citizens in Prince George will be able to appreciate what the event will mean to them,” says CEO of the 2015 Canada Winter Games, Stuart Ballantyne. “We are taking every opportunity to celebrate these milestones and showcase the City’s impressive facilities and welcome the
public to journey with us, whether that is through volunteering, sponsoring the event or by attending the one-year out celebration event in February.”
The concert is just one of the events on Feb.14th, 2014 signifying the special date. More details to come.
Tickets for the concert will be available at Ticketmaster on Friday, November 15, 2013,
