Wong played in Junior Tournaments at Point Grey growing up as a youngster in North Vancouver, so you would think the course is friendly to him?
Playing through the first two rounds, he has had one problem – securing enough tickets for Friends and Family.
The two-time PGA TOUR Canada winner is hitting the ball with force to reach the green depending on the distance, but regardless he stuck to his game plan of playing aggressive, which paid off.
Eugene Wong carded five (5) birdies and an eagle and managed to survive two late bogeys taking sole possession of the 36-hole lead at the PC Financial Open.
This is the season’s kickoff event for PGA TOUR Canada and they couldn’t have picked a better course other than Point Grey Golf and Country Club.
His (Wong) opening rounds of 66-67 gave him a 1-stroke advantage over PGA TOUR Canada rookies John Catlin of Sacramento and England’s Kelvin Day who was 11-under-par 133.
Catlin managed to birdie his final two holes for his second consecutive round of 67 while Day posted the low round 66 of the day.
way tie for fourth and sitting three shots back are Brad Clapp of Chilliwack,  Seann Harlingten of West Vancouver and Chris Parra of Texas.
Joel Dahmen (Washington) and Mexico’s Mario Clemens, while Dahmen and Clemens shared the first-round lead with Wong.
Wong never grabbed his first tournament bogey until his 24th hole, which proved to be No. 6 and has just two miscues through the first 36 holes.
After the round was over Wong told the media “I hit a bad drive on the sixth hole, but you know what, it’s not bad for what I’ve done so far and I won’t think about that.”
