2016 BC Winter Games – Penticton Bound!!
As happens each time the BC Winter or Summer Games come around, the Delta Sport Council pays recognition to those attending paying tribute for recognition of hard work and dedication.
This year was no exception as Monday evening the Delta Sport Council hosted the send-off event at Delta’s City Hall with several attending.
The 2016 BC Winter Games are being held in Penticton and Delta is listed to be a part of Zone 5 team that also includes athletes from Vancouver, Richmond, North Shore, Squamish, Whistler and the Sunshine Coast.
The event was well received with several dignitaries sending representatives to give a “send-off’ speech recognizing their hard work and dedication to the chosen sport.

Some additional sports at the B.C. Winter Games include: basketball, biathlon, diving, figure skating, netball, rhythmic gymnastics, cross country skiing and speed skating.
The games are held every two years and this summer the 2016 B.C. Summer Games are held in Abbotsford.
