Trinity Western University will be represented by a group of four athletes at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, which run July 10-26, including two current track and field stars and a pair of former men’s volleyball standouts.
The Spartans will see current TWU athletes Katelynn Ramage (Nanaimo), in the 20km race-walk, and Nathan George (Coquitlam), in the 4x400m relay, don the Red and White on the track, while former men’s volleyball players Steve Marshall (Abbotsford) and Rudy Verhoeff (Calgary) will suit up for Canada on the court.
Both Ramage and George are coming off strong showings at the 2015 Canadian Track and Field Championships in Edmonton, as Ramage came away with a silver medal in the 10km racewalk while George finished fourth in the 400m.
Ramage will compete July 19 at 4 a.m. (PDT) while George will run with Canada’s 4x400m team in the semifinals July 24 at 9:35 a.m. (PDT).
The 4x400m final is July 25 at 6:50 p.m. (PDT).
Marshall and Verhoeff will be on the court for Canada when it opens its Pan American Games pool play July 17 against Mexico. The team will then take on Puerto Rico July 19 and the United States July 21.
The TWU duo will look to help Canada build upon its FIVB World League showing where it finished third in Pool C after posting a 6-6 record.
