2013 BC Soccer Championships

The honour of hosting the BC Soccer 2013 Provincial Youth Cup Championships was awarded to three (3) member soccer associations in BC.

Langley (United Soccer Association) Prince George (Youth Soccer Association) and North Shore (Youth Soccer Association) are the successful organizations who will take responsibility for hosting the prestigious annual soccer championships.

Over 2,500 players from 120 youth teams from U13 to U18 will participate in next summer’s three Provincial Championship finals with all events taking place from 4-7 July 2013.

The Provincial A Cup championships for both boys and girls U13 to U18 will take place in Langley, BC and be hosted by the Langley United Soccer Association.

All games will be played on the turf and grass fields at the Willoughby Park facility.

BC Soccer’s B Cup championships will once again be split between two communities with North Shore Youth Soccer Association hosting the Girls and Prince George Youth Soccer Association hosting the boys.

Prince George Youth Soccer Association will use two facilities to host games, the Rotary Soccer and Glen Thompson fields with Masich Place Stadium, which has previously hosted a Canada U20 Women’s National Team international, to be used for the opening ceremonies.

The eight soccer fields at the Inter River park facilities in North Vancouver is where the North Shore Youth Soccer Association will host all games for the Girls B Cup Championships with the opening ceremony set to take place at the adjacent Capilano University.

“We received a significant number of submissions from prospective host communities and member associations; the quality of all them was excellent,” said Don Dancey, BC Soccer Youth Competitions Committee Chair and BC Soccer Director. “This clearly demonstrates how valuable these championships are to the soccer community of BC.

We congratulate all three of the 2013 hosts, North Shore Youth Soccer Association, Prince George Youth Soccer Association and Langley United Soccer Association and will work closely with them to deliver memorable championships for all participants”.

“BC Soccer is making Competitions one of our top priorities and we are striving to make our events even more memorable each year,” said Roger Barnes, President BC Soccer. “Sincere thanks to all of our 2013 host communities, who I am sure will deliver terrific experiences for the teams who will work so hard to qualify”, he added.

Hosts and location of the BC Soccer Provincial Youth Premier Cup will be confirmed shortly.
