Preston Tucker has been elected the 2011 CCAA Male Athlete of the Year Across All Sports. Tucker is a setter on the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat men’s volleyball team.
Earlier this month he was named 2011 CCAA Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year.
“Preston Tucker has an impressive resume both on and off the court,” said Ray Sarkis, CCAA vice-president of programs. “As an athlete he is the total package.”

– 2011 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship Tournament First Team All-Star
– 2011 CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship Player of the Match
– 2011 BCCAA Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year
– 2011 BCCAA Men’s Volleyball First Team All-Star
Tucker studies human kinetics at UBCO in addition to coaching volleyball clinics, assisting youth clubs and volunteering in the community.
The UBCO Heat men’s volleyball team had an impressive season; the team took gold at the 2011 BCCAA provincial championships with a 13-1 league win/loss record and earned silver at the 2011 CCAA Men’s Volleyball Championships.
The other nominees for 2011 CCAA Male Athlete of the Year Across All Sports were Jerome Blake of Vanier College, Matt Chan of Mount Royal University, Scott Lesher of Briercrest Bible College and Seminary and Clint Smith of Fanshawe College.
