The Whitecaps enter the upcoming season with all sights set on bringing home a championship as well as attracting more fans to all games.
The first might be easier than the later, but both are extremely doable in terms for the success for the Whitecaps organization, which have worked extremely hard to be a success.

Entering the 2017 MLS SuperDraft the Whitecaps first round selection (7th overall) was 22 year-old defender Jakob Nerwinski who chalked up five goals and 17 assists in his 75 starts at the University of Connecticut.
In addition he was selected as a three-time All-American Athletic Conference team play and Co-captained as a Junior and Senior while at Connecticut.
He plays right back and comes from Lawrenceville, New Jersey and played at his hometown high school of Notre Dame, where he was selected as a four-year All-District player.
The second round saw the Whitecaps select 6′ 2″, 22 year-old Francis de Vries as their 29th overall pick.
He spent four years playing at Saint Francis University and comes from Christchurch New Zealand.
He started all 78 of his appearances, managing 15 goals and 6 assists and was twice named to a NSCAA Third Team All-American.
He also won two PDL championships with the Michigan Bucks in 2014 and 2016 and also spent time with FC Basel Academy in Switzerland.
The Whitecaps FC square off against the New York Red Bulls in the upcoming CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, with the first leg at Red Bull Arena Wednesday, February 22,
